Challenge #3

This is my first challenge with Celebrate the Occasion as a DT member.  The challenge was to make a project using only the colors green, white and one other of your choice. I didn't realize how hard that can be but here goes.

Being a Circle member, I just received the new exclusive cart  "Cricut Everyday", and I had to use it.  This new cart has alot of scrap sayings on it and this particular one seemed perfect. I started out with this green pail that I found at Michael's in the $1 bin.  I used  blk and white vinyl, which I get from Expressions Vinyl,  and cut the saying at 2.5 in. The scissor border was made, using the same cart, by cutting a  scissor  at .92 in. and welding enough together to go around the pail. I then added bling with my I- rock.

The next thing was the flowers, I used Forever Young for these cuts.  I found  scraps of green patterned paper in my stash and cut them at different sizes ( 2.0,2.25,2.50in.).  I inked the edges, curled the petals ,and added black buttons for the center. I then found some white crafting sticks to attach them too.
I  added green and white ribbons to the pail handle and filled the pail with white crinkled paper.I then arranged the flowers in the pail and  added the cricut tools to the mix.   I  was thinking this would make a fun gift for a new crafter.

CH #39- Technology

The challenge over at Paper Playtime this week was to create a project that had some type of technology product in it.  This a layout of my sons move-in day at college. And as you can see, the priority of the day was to get the TV , gaming system and computers hooked up. The carts used were LockerTalk, Groovy Times, and Nifty Fifties.. The paper that was used was from Cosmo Cricut and Bazzill.

Flashback Friday 8.0

As I was strolling  through the blogs this morning, I came across one that looked interesting and caught my attention. The blog is Flashback Friday 8.0  and it is a challenge blog and the challenge was to find the first 3D  project you've done and post it.  I haven't been blogging  too long, less then a year, but it was fun looking back at things I've done. So here goes. I made these Easter baskets for the grandson last March and filled them with some goodies.

New Designer for Celebrate the Occasions!!

I am sooo excited!!  One of my goals for this year was to get on a design team, so when  I saw the DT call on Celebrate the Occasions (CTO) a few weeks back, I had to try for it.  Here is the project I submitted, we were asked to create a birthday themed project,  and I just found out I made it!! I  feel honored to be a part of a great  team.
The recipe for this card is:
Nate's ABC  cart
Stampin Up- paper, stamp, ink and ribbon
Jillibean twine
Fiskars tag punch
white gel pen for stitching around star and tag

Celebrate the Occasions has a weekly challenge with a certain theme, a winner is chosen and is put in for the monthly drawing.  This week, in honor of all the new designers, the challenge is to do a birthday themed project . You have until Sunday Feb 27th to create and post your project on their blog.  So come join us in the fun, we look forward to seeing  all your creations.

Baby Card

My husband  asked me to make a card for a couple  he works with, they just found out they are expecting.  I used the New Arrival cart for both the onesie (3 in) and the banner (1.5 in ). The paper is from DCWV and the ribbon is from American Craft.  I embossed the onesie with the Swiss Dots CB folder and the background paper I used the Hearts folder.

Submitted to 3 challenges:
   Fantabulous Cricut  - Emboss it
Cooking with the cricut - Emboss it
   Linda's Creativity - Emboss

Fishing Boy Challenge

The challenge at Bitten by the Bug2  this week was to use the fishing boy from A Child's Year cart.  I also used  Boys will be Boys cart for the fishing rod (2.5in) and the worms (1.25 in). For the "Got Fish" I used the Cricut Font cutting that  at 1.5in, I then inked the edges and added stitching.  The border of trees are from EK Success.

February Sketch

Shannon over at scraplady324 has a monthly sketch, she creates her own, and then some of her crafty friends make either a layout or card of it.  It's amazing seeing everyone's interpretation of the sketch, so head on over to her blog and check out all the beautiful projects.  Here is my take on the sketch, fun in the sun with the step-daughters and grandsons.  I am sooo looking forward to weather like this again, tired of snow and cold temps  LOL.  The paper I used for this layout is Stampin Up and Coordinations and the carts used were Graphically Speaking and Accent Essential.

M.A.G Challenge #14

I made this project for the M.A.G Challenge by the Page blog. You're given  a certain cart and page to use for your cut. For this challenge it was the Printing Press cart and page 37 (cricut search) or page 94 (booklet)  and you can ONLY use what's on this page,  lucky for me my name starts with an M.
I found this notebook at my LSS for  a $1 so I thought it would be fun to make myself something for a change. The paper i used is from DCWV and SU.  The circle is cut at 3.5in and the M is cut at 3in. I inked ,  then sprayed the circle with glimmer mist to add a little shimmer and then added some buttons from my stash.

Party Hearty

Lots of birthdays  coming up so I'm trying to stay ahead of the game. This a standard A2 card. The paper used is from Imaginisce and Stampin Up. The silhouette is from the Forever Young cart, cut at 3in.
The twine is from Jillibean Soup, the rickrack ribbon is from Martha Stewat, and the sentiment is from SU.

This card  was made for these challenges:
       Flaunt it Fridays- Forever Young
Jiggerbuggin'  - sketch, birthday card, rickrack

Stampin Up cards

I recently became a demonstrator for Stampin Up and so today I was just playing around with a few stamps and paper. I'm so used to using the the cricut on everything,  it felt kinda strange making a card w/o  all that chirpin going on.  Don't get me wrong,  I Love my cricut, but it was nice to do something a little different .

Masculine Card

This week over at Celebrate the Occasion the challenge is to make a "masculine" birthday themed project.  I made this card with my hubby in mind, he's truly a Mr. Fix-it. I used the Handyman cart, the tape measure is cut at 2 in.,  the nails and drill are cut at .75in and the hammer and wrench are brads.  The paper used is from DCWV.

Tacky Tuesday #3

The challenge over September Ninth  was to use the chick from  the Simply Charmed cart and have the word "chick" somewhere on the project.  I do not have that cart, I've been trying forever to get it on ebay, so I used the chick from Create a Critter.  The chick I cut out at 3.5in, groovy at 1.5in and chick at1.75. I used the CB to emboss the white  and used Peachy Keen Animal Faces for the chick's face. The yellow, blue, and white cardstock is from SU and the rest is from my stash., not sure.

Disney Autographs

I finished up the rest of the autograph books for my nieces and nephew. Now they will be ready to meet the Disney gang :) These books are made with the Your Story Photo and the Mickey Mouse Font cartridge.

Wacky Wednesday #24

I have a brother and sister that are taking their kids to Walt Disney World next week. Being the great aunt that I am , I thought it would be fun for them  to have autograph books. When I took my son, 14 yrs ago, we had a blast getting all the character's signatures.
I made this with the Your Story Photo machine, it is the  4 x 6 book. The cart I used is the Mickey Mouse Font. The tag is cut at 2.5 x 5, Minnie is 2in and the letters are 1in and then welded with the Gypsy.I used a white gel pen for the stitching.
I am submitting this for the Wacky Wednesday Challenge at More Than Favors. The challenge was to use the colors yellow, blue and white  in your project. Now I'm off to make 4 more of these, each with a different Disney character.
