A Special Gift for a Friend

This weekend was a full of lots of scrappin. Between a live broadcast with The Pink Stamper, an online crop with the Fiskateers, and an all day crop at a LSS  with friends, I'm up to my eyeballs with scraps. But boy did I have fun!!! I got lots of cards done, some layouts made, and a few gifts created and yes, I even squeezed in some household chores. My favorite project this weekend was this shadowbox.  I made it for a friend  who lost her husband, Saul , to cancer on March 3rd,2010.   I found come pictures of them, that I had taken at Christmas so I decided to do something special for her. It was Saul's birthday today so I gave it to her as a gentle reminder of the special angel that will be with her always.

Sketch from Pieces of Me Scrapbooking and PaperCrafts

Just Because Cart

At a  Cricut Swarm last weekend I won the
"Just Because" cart. I got to play with it alittle bit last night and these are 3 cards I  made from it. I can see myself using this cart quite abit. What's nice about it is everything is cut at the same size. The 2 end cards were cut  at 5.5in. and the middle was cut at 4.5 in. All the addons are cut at the same size you cut the card at, no guessing.

The challenge was to create something with the colors green, pink and black in it. I created this card from the New Arrivals cart and on the inside it says, " Thanks for being you "

This is a quilt that my sister Donna made for my husband and I.  She had started making this, 2 years ago ,when Harvey and I  found out that I was pregnant.  When I was 2.5 months into my pregnancy I miscarried, we were devastated. She gave us our time to grieve, then approached us about the quilt. She wanted to finish it and still give it  to us in remembrance of the child  that we lost.  I was thrilled that she wanted to do that for us. So here's the finished product , isn't it just beautiful?    We will cherish it always.
