Birthday Blog Hop -- Day 2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTEN

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Birthday Blog Hop!  If you came from Kristen's blog, fantabulouslypink.blogspot.com/  then you are on the right track, if not, go to her blog and you'll be at the beginning. For today I made a birthday card/ gift card holder.
This is a standard card, 4.25 x 5.5 in, on the front  I scored at 1 in. and then folded it the opposite way  and used 2 brads poked through all 3 layers, which makes a pocket. I added  a cupcake border punch and cut  cupcakes out , at 2,1.75,1.5 in., using the From My Kitchen Cartridge. I added glitter to the frosting and cherries using the Viva Decor Glitter Liner pen.
The tag was cut at 4 inches,I created a pocket on the back, added  ribbon and brads, and  then used a black gel pen to add stitching around card.

The Simply Sweet cart is still up for grabs. If you visited yesterday and left a comment, please add another today and you'll get entered in the drawing twice.

Thanks for stopping by, your next stop

For the flowers, I used Fiskars squeeze punches (Lg &XL)and added button brads for the center. The papers used were Bazzill cardstock and Imaginisce.  For some added bling, I used the Viva Decor Glitter Liner pen on the the cupcake and the party hat.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE to get prizes. So this weekend I will be giving away the Simply Sweet cartridge for a prize.  To be entered just leave a comment and a way to get a hold of you if you win.  You don't need to become a follower to win, but you sure can if you'd like.

A Valentine

Here is a card i made for the Wacky Wednesday #23 Color Challenge at the More than Favors  blog.  For the challenge you had to use the colors green, brown and pink.  For this card , I used paper from my stash and used the cuttlebug to emboss the hearts on the pink paper. The heart was cut out with Martha Stewart's Anywhere punch  and sewn with embroidery thread from Making Memories. The image is cut from Nate's ABCs cart, I just received that in the mail today ( I was excited)

Bear in a can

Birthdays are in the air this week, so of course,  I had to make another card. A person never has too many Birthday cards. For this card I used  Birthday Bash cart for the balloons (2.5in)  and   the Give a Hoot for the bear in the garbage can (3.5 in).The papers I used are from Imaginese and Bazzill.  The Peachy Keen Animal Face stamps were used for bears face. I made this card for 2 different challenges. The first  is Flaunt it Fridays where you had to use the Give a Hoot cart.  The second is for Cooking with the Cricut, the challenge was a birthday them  with the use of Peachy Keen stamps.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #59

This is a Valentine card I made for a challenge  over at  the CricutCardzChallenge blog. The challenge was to make a Valentine card for a child. I have 3 grandbabies so this was pretty easy to do. The bunny was cut from EveryDay PaperDolls (4in) , I used Peachy Keen's Animal faces stamp for the face, using Basic Black Stampin Up ink. I also flocked the bunny with Martha Stewart Flock, first time using flocking powder and WOW I really like that.  I used MS anywhere punch for the hearts and a MS border punch. The pink paper is from DCWV and white is Bazzill.  I hand wrote the sentiment using a black gel pen.

My Pink Stampers 1st Blog Hop

Robyn from My Pink Stamper had her first Blog Hop this weekend. At each blog , along with their project, they had a key word you needed to collect.  At the end of the hop you had to put the words together  and find out what the challenge was.  So here is my project for that challenge.

The wheels and the car are from the Nifties Fiftiescart, the wheels I welded with my gypsy.
The font is from the Mickey's Font and I also welded them with the gypsy.

I'm also using this card for a challenge at The Paper Variety. The Pink Stamper is the sponsor for their second challenge of the year. The challenge is to use the color pink, black and white in your project.

January Sketch

Starting the first of the year, Shannon from http://scraplady324.blogspot.com/   has begun doing her own sketch blog. Shannon is a fellow Fiskateer and was looking for people to work with her sketches, so I signed up.  Each month she will do a new sketch and then I get to have fun with it.  My goal this year is to get more involved in the crafting world so I'm hoping this is only the beginning of my new adventure.

Winter Warmies

I did this layout for Challenge Me Monday #42 at Fantabulous Cricut. The challenge was to use "winter warmies" such as mittens, scarves, sweaters etc, anywhere on your project.
The 12 x12 paper is from Pinecone Press the other is Bazzill.  The Brrrr is cut at 3in and embossed with the Snowflakes CB folder. The winter wear is cut at 1in. using the WinterWonderland cart. I used the Martha Stewart  snowflake border punch on the journal tag and blinged things up with using the Viva glitter liner.

Wacky Wednesday #21- Gift and Treat bags

I saw this challenge over at More Than Favors blog and I thought I would give it a try.  The box I made with Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cutting at 4.25x5.75 and the top piece is from StoryBook . I used my Gypsy for this, cutting at 3.75 x 6 in with a smaller one (1.96 x 3.58) welded in the middle to create a window. I   then punched holes on either side and strung ribbon through and around box then tied in a bow on top. The love is cut and welded at 1 in with the Mickey Font and the hearts and  xo are cut at 1 in using the Sweethearts cart. The images I also embossed  with red embossing powder.  Before tying the ribbon I added a box of valentine heart candies. I thought theses would be fun to send out to my kids and grandkids.

Happy Birthday

A birthday card I made for a friend with the sketch from  MojoMonday. It's a standard A2 cut with Bazzill cardstock. The patterned paper is from DCWV The Crafty Stack. The scalloped ovals are the Nestabilities Spellbinders. The banner is cut from the Celebrations cart at 1 in. The stamp  is the from The Pink Cricut Design. And using the Viva  pen, I  added just a little bling by the stamp.

Love is in the Air

With Valentines Day right around the corner, I thought I could get a head start on cards. The card measures 4.5 x 6in.  I used the New Arrivals for the Airplane ( 3in), Sweethearts for the kittens (1.82in & 2in) and Everday PaperDolls for the hills and clouds both cut a 1in. I put SU pop dots on the clouds and the she cat, red embossing powder on the heart , used a white gel pen to add stitching and grabbed some red ribbon from my stash for the bow.

I made this for 2 different challenges in mind. The first is with My Creative Time ,Throwback Thursdays, where you could use any cartridge, any theme but it had to have a heart somewhere on the project.  The second is Flaunt it Fridays  #6 - Hello Kitty Greetings Airplane, I don't own the Hello Kitty's carts so I used images from Sweethearts and New Arrivals.

Momo's Tuesday Challenge

http://madebymomo.blogspot.com  has a Tuesday challenge and this is their first for 2011. The challenge was to make a project that was snow related. This past week I did a 1pg   layout for a challenge at fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com, which was also snow related. I like to do 2-page layouts so yesterday I made the  2nd page  for Momo's.
The tree is from Jolly Holiday cut at 8 in. and the skater is from Winter Frolic cut at 3 in. The snow and ice pond I cut freehand and inked the edges with Stampin' Up black ink, the snowflakes were stamped with Stampin' Up white.  All the paper I used was Bazzill.
