Looks like Spring!

Happy  Thursday Everyone!!  I've been busy packing up all my craftin stuff for a 3-day swarm this weekend but was able to get a quick card out before it all got packed away.  I never know what to bring so a big chunk of it comes with me....  I really need help in that area.
With this card, there is no cricut used. The heart is from a Martha Stewarts anywhere punch (I really love those), the stitching happens with the punch. So I threaded it with crafting thread and added a bow.  The butterfly ribbon and striped paper was found in my stash, no clue who makes it.  The white paper is SU and is handstamped  with a Stampin Up stamp and ink.
I'm entering this in a couple challenges, I love when I can do that.

A "Love"ly Blog Hop

Good Morning and Welcome to our bloghop. This hop is hosted by Dawn , a.k.a Nurse Viper, Scrappy RN,  a friend from the Cricut Circle. It's all about love today, what it means to be loved and to love, that special someone or something in your life.  If you've just come from Shawn's  then you are on the right track, if you want to start at the beginning and  see all the awesome layouts , then  you'll have to head back to Dawn's, she's the leader of us circlets.

This couldn't have happened at a better time, my  anniversary is next week, the 22nd.  It will be 7 yrs since    we took our 4 kids, flew to Las Vegas, and made our vows to each other. And no, we did not get married by Elvis, we did get married by a minister in a beautiful ceremony at The Flamingo Hotel.  That day, I married my best friend, someone who has really shown me what it means to love unconditionally.  My hubby is always telling me that  I'm perfect  and.... well....  I'm not.  LOL
With that being said, here is the layout I came up with.  I came across this saying in a book and knew I had to run with it.

Personally , I love  blog candy, so I just had to include some!  Please leave a comment and a way to get a hold of you.  l'll  be choosing  a winner on Tues, the 22nd .  If you want to become a follower , that would be great but you do NOT need to be in order to win.

In case you lose your way, here's the list of the blogs on this hop ,   You have one more stop to make, so go check out   Cindy's blog and get some more inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by !

March Sketch

It's time once again for the monthly sketch by Shannon over at The Scrapping Stamper.  Every month she has a new sketch and this is what I came up with. This is a 12 x12 layout and the paper I used was by Bazzill and Kaiser Kraft.  I used the Gypsy Wanderings cart for the wording and my gypsy to weld the letters together.  Now head on over to Shannon;'s blog and check out what the other ladies came up with.  Its always fun to see other's take on a sketch.  Thanks for looking!!

New Arrival

It's time for another week of fun with  Celebrate the Occasion. We're up to Challenge #5 and its time to celebrate a New Arrival such as a new baby or a new pet.
I've been trying to do new card techniques so for my project this week I did a tri-fold card.  They're actually pretty easy do  and fun to make. I went to Youtube and found this video Scrap Happens tri-fold tutorials , Nancy does a great job on explaining and showing the how-to's, so go check it out.

The recipe for this card-
       New Arrival's cart- sun (3.25in), It's a Girl (2in)
Coordinations paper-  pink and tan paper
       Stampin'Up- ink
       PeachyKeen Funshine Faces
       Imaginisce- stamps of baby items
       White gel pen- faux stitching
not sure about the patterned paper

Come join us in the challenge, I look forward to seeing your creations!
Thanks for looking!

You're a Lucky Duckie!

We got to choose from a list of 3 for our challenge this week on Paper Playtime. The options were:
    1) use green & purple( in honor og Mardi Gras)
    2) Use Pink & glitter
    3) Use a critter and a rhyme ( in honor of Dr. Suess)

I  bet you can figure out  what option I went with.  The poem is a quote from Dr. Suess and printed off the computer.  The duck scene is from the Nate's ABCs cart, cut at 3in. and the sun is from Create a Critter, cut at 1.25in.  The sun's face is from PeachyKeen Funshine Faces. I then added some faux stitching aroung the sun and cloud.
Thanks for looking, now head on over to Paper Playtime and join in the challenge. I can't wait to see what you created!

Wacky Wednesday

There is a color challenge for Wacky Wednesday at More Than Favors blog.  The colors to be used are green, purple and yellow. My God-daughter is graduating next Wed. with a nursing degree , so I came up with this fun card for her.
This is a standardA2 card. I used the Everyday PaperDolls for the nurse and she is cut at 3.5in. I embossed the white cardstock with a CB folder and inked the edges. The flower border is an EK border punch and I used my I-rock to add the yellow gems.  The green and white cardstock is from SU and the rest is from my stash.    Thanks for looking!

LadyBug Challenge

DCWV just came out with some new paperstacks that you can only get at Michaels. So, of course, I had to go check it out and I had to buy a stack. My favorite one was "The Playtime" and the patterned piece on this card is from this stack. The solid colors are from Bazzill, the circle was embossed with the Spots & Dots CB folder. The ladybug and circle are from the Boys will be Boys cart and is cut at 1.75in.The sentiment is from The Pink Stamper stamps, ribbon is from Martha Stewart and the button is from my stash.

True friend

I thought this turned out so cute, Piglet is my favorite character from Winnie-the-Pooh.  He is cut from the Pooh Font cart.  The circle is cut  using the Martha Stewart anywhere punch and stamped with  a SU stamp.  I just got a Sew Easy kit, so I had to play with that.  My hubby just laughs, he couldn't believe I was sewing on paper!
Thanks for looking and have a great Sunday!!

Twinkle Post

I made this card for the challenge over at Flaunt it Fridays. This weeks challenge was to use the Twinkle Toes cart  , if you didn't have this cart you could use another with similar cuts. Well... I don't have this cart so I used my Shall We Dance cart .  I've had this one for many months but have never used it, so this was a great challenge for me to do.  I cut the little dancer at 3.5in. and added black flocking to her tutu. I just love that stuff!  The paper used is SU and DCWV and stamps used were Pink by Design and Peachy Keen.  The black ribbon was pulled out of my stash.

Double Take

Here's a layout I did of my second grandson, he's almost 4.   I used the New Arrivals cart, I've been getting lots of use out of this cart lately.  The frog is cut at 3.5in , the banner is cut at 2.75in. and the sentiment is at 3.5in.
The paper is from DCWV, the brads are from my stash and the flower borders are from an EK border punch.
I made this for  Cooking with the Cricut  -  Challenge #19  Double Take

Wacky Wednesday #28

Wacky Wednesday's challenge over at More Than Favor's  is a zoo theme. I came across this paper from DCWV and thought it would be perfect.  This is a 12 x12 layout of our first grandson, he turns 6 this year. Yea...I know... Grandma's a little slow.  The worst part is he now has 2 brothers and I want to do books for them also  LOL.
The train (3.5in) , zoo animals (2.in), and banner (3.5) are from the  New Arrival's cart. The paper is DCWV, Stampin'Up and Bazzill. I used a EK border punch  around the frame of pictures and inked the edges. I then added glitter to the wheels and white faux stitching around the chain.

St. Patricks Day

The challenge over at Crafting with Cristina  is to make a project for St.Patricks Day.  This is a standard A 2 card , 5.5 x 4.25 in. card.  I used Stampin'Up  paper, stamp and ink for this project. I stamped the bottom half of the card with a shamrock stamp and Olive green ink which was a shade darker then the paper. The rainbow is from Creative Critter cut at 2.5 in and the pot of gold and shamrock( inside of card) are from PaperDoll Dress Up cut at 3.5 in.  I added Stickles for the gold and glitter to the rainbow for some shine.  The sentiment I found on the computer and  printed that out.
I'm also entering this into one other challenge-
                                                                                    The Paper Variety- color Green

Party Hats and Balloons

The sketch I followed is from Cardabilities.  The balloons are cut at 1.5in using the Birthday Bash cart. The paper, stamps, and ink are all from Stampin Up. I used Jellibean twine for the balloon strings.

Shaped Card

This is my first at making a shaped card and I think the little chickie turned out pretty good. That darn Gypsy is the best gosh darn tool out there. Anyway, I made this chick from the Just Because caart.  I used the shadow  and the "real" size feature and welded two of them together ,then cut at 5.5 in.  Then I had to play around with the sizing of the chick, bill, wings and feet to fit porportionally to the the card..I  inked up the edges to add some dimension,,added a bow,  necklace, and eyes and we have a very sweet chick.  The stamp I used is from The Pink Stamper and the ink from SU.
I'm entering this into 3 challenges-
The Pink Stamper - Feathered  Friend
   Jitterbuggin'  - Shaped card
   Fantabulous Cricut  -  Shaped card
